The British motorcycle brand, Triumph revealed their much anticipated and long-awaited replacement for the Daytona 675 and the Daytona 675 R sportbikes at the EICMA Motorcycle Show, 2012. The 2013 versions get new engines of an over square design with increased bore and a shorter stroke. These changes will result in the bike delivering more top end performance, albeit at some compromise of bottom end power delivery. A shorter stroke also means you can rev the engines to very high RPMs, making it sportier. Although the exact bore and stroke values have not been revealed by the company, the total displacement effectively remains at 675cc. [click to continue…]

There is little doubt that Yamaha Motor India has been very active with the promotion of its latest gearless scooter, the Yamaha Ray. In a special promotional campaign since 1st of November, Yamaha had organized a group of 6 young women who traveled on Ray scooters through schools, colleges, malls and shopping complexes for a period of nine days showcasing the scooter and spreading awareness among the users about the product. Among the Japanese motorcycle players in the Indian market, Suzuki has been the most dormant among all. Post the GS150R launch, which, to be noted, happened way long back Suzuki has not added any additional motorcycle models to their Indian product line-up inspite of having some great products. Sometime ago, with competitor manufacturers becoming very active in the 250cc segment, rumors started floating around that Suzuki also might bring in their 250cc model, the GW250. Suzuki also made some statements which hinted at a bigger displacement motorcycle coming to India but no concrete piece is available till date. [click to continue…]

The EICMA 2012 show is finally happening and I am sure you have been expecting some cool machines to be showcased by the motorcycle manufacturers. One of the highly anticipated models at the EICMA 2012 has been the Super Duke 1290. KTM had also released some teaser images prior to the commencement of the show to boost the already present hype around the bike. And now, KTM has finally showcased the model. Here it is! Welcome to the 1290 Super Duke. And the bike looks like a damn mean machine in a good way. No second thoughts or different opinions about that for sure. The bike showcased by KTM at the show is however not a full fledged production model, but rather a prototype that might see the likes of production very soon. I am sure it will do.

Fastest Cars In The World: Top 10 List 2012-2013

1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: 267 mph (429 km/h), 0-60 in 2.4 secs. Aluminum, Narrow Angle 8 Liter W16 Engine with 1200 hp, base price is $2,400,000. Although the Bugatti Veyron lost the title to SSC Ultimate Aero on March 2007, Bugatti challenge the record in Germany on July 10, 2010 with the new 2010 Super Sport Version and the Veyron once again claims the title of the fastest car in the world at 267 mph. The original Bugatti Veyron has a top speed of 253 mph, priced at $1,700,000 and equipped with 1001 hp.
#2 is a tie at 260 mph!

2. Hennessey Venom GT: 260 mph (418 km/h), 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, has a 6.2-liter LS9 Turbocharged V8 Twin Turbo V8 Engine producing 1200 hp, has a price tag of $950,000. The Venom GT has yet to be tested and proven, but could possibly hit a top speed of 275 mph. This might just be the Veyron Super Sport's closest competitor!

2. Koenigsegg Agera R: 260 mph (418 km/h), 0-60 in 2.9 secs. 5.0-liter V8 Engine with twin turbo’s, housing 1099 hp. Base price is $1,600,000. If you're into snow sports, the Agera R can be fitted with a Ski Box as well as winter tires, not that I would take one on a ski trip or anything like that. While the Agera R has a massive theoretical top speed, the current tested top speed is 260 mph. Expect this snow car to be the Bugatti's arch enemy for the next 5 years.
Also a tie for #3.

On March 2011, the Koenigsegg Agera R also surpassed it, forcing this American made car to the #3 spot. Shelby SuperCars will continue their quest to reclaim the fastest car title, and their new SSC Tuatura might do the job (we'll just have to wait).
